What is Orbismo?

Orbismo is a collaborative world-building database. Instead of scattering your world across documents and spreadsheets, you model it as a connected graph: entities (people, places, events, groups, and whatever else you track) joined by relationships, each enriched with long-form lore. Everything lives in one structured, searchable canon — whether that “world” is a novel’s universe, a game campaign, a team’s shared knowledge, or your own life.

The defining idea: humans and AI edit the same canon

Section titled “The defining idea: humans and AI edit the same canon”

Most tools make you choose between a place for people to write and a separate place where an AI helps out — and then you copy text back and forth. Orbismo removes that gap. Every world has two front doors onto the same database:

  • The web portal — where the people on your team browse the canon and manage the world.
  • An MCP endpoint — a programmatic interface that AI agents (Claude, Cursor, ChatGPT, and other MCP-aware tools) connect to directly to read and write content.

You build and change your world by directing an AI agent, and whatever it creates shows up in the portal immediately for everyone to see. The AI isn’t a chat window bolted on the side — it’s a first-class collaborator working in the same canon as your team.

  • Storytellers and authors keeping a sprawling novel or series consistent.
  • Tabletop players and game masters running campaigns with deep, evolving lore.
  • Game and narrative studios where a whole team authors and queries shared canon.
  • Anyone mapping a complex web of people, places, and connections — Orbismo doubles as a personal knowledge base and lightweight CRM.
  • Structured, not a pile of prose. Because your world is a graph, you can ask precise questions — “every person in this group who attended that event” — and get real answers.
  • AI as a true collaborator. Connected agents read and write the canon under permissions you control, with no export/import loop.
  • Billing per world, not per seat. Each world is its own subscription, so collaborating with a team doesn’t multiply your cost. See How pricing works.
