ChatGPT

ChatGPT connects to Orbismo through a custom MCP connector, which uses Orbismo sign-in — so it’s the connector method (one connection, all your worlds, switch in conversation). ChatGPT doesn’t take a static API key, so the per-world API-key method doesn’t apply here.

Note

Custom MCP connectors are a beta feature. They’re available on ChatGPT Plus and Pro, and on Business, Enterprise, and Edu workspaces (where an admin enables them first). Write-capable connectors may be limited to the business plans — on some plans a custom connector is read-only. Availability and these limits are changing as the feature matures, so check ChatGPT’s current connector documentation if an option isn’t where this guide says.

Connect

1. In ChatGPT, open Settings → Connectors → Advanced settings and turn on Developer mode. (On Business/Enterprise/Edu, a workspace admin must enable custom connectors first.)
2. Create a new custom connector:
   • Name: Orbismo
   • MCP server URL: https://app.orbismo.com/api/v1/mcp
   • Authentication: choose OAuth.
3. ChatGPT sends you to Orbismo to sign in and choose which worlds the connector may access. Approve to finish.
4. In a chat, enable Developer mode and select the Orbismo connector. Ask it to list your worlds and switch to one, then start working.

Using it

Describe what you want in your world’s vocabulary and ChatGPT calls the right Orbismo tools. ChatGPT asks you to confirm tool calls before they run — especially anything that makes changes. To work in a different world, just ask it to switch.

What the connector can do follows your role on whichever world is active (read-only on worlds you only view; read-write where you’re an editor or owner). Manage which worlds it can reach, or disconnect it, from the portal’s Connected apps page — see The connector.
